Dr. von Rueden founded The Piedmont Singers of Central Va in 2016.  The eight-voice professional vocal ensemble specializes in a cappella twentieth century repertoire and performs in the Piedmont region of central Virginia.  The first season included performances in Farmville, Richmond, and Charlottesville.  The group performed a program around the theme of "wonder" and included repertoire by Maantyjarvi, Barber, Alain, and others.  In 2017, the group sang all living composers including Melissa Dunphy, David McIntyre, Pawel Lukazewski, and others in a program inspired by the art work in ArtsSpace Gallery in Richmond.  2018 bring a collaboration at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts with Classical Revolutions RVA chamber ensemble, plus an exciting concert series called Love and Madness, with concerts in Farmville, Richmond, and Williamsburg.

Thank you to the Hampden-Sydney Music Series for supporting the work of The Piedmont Singers of Central Va!
